New sportsbook and poker room opening in Milwaukee

The Forest County Potawatomi Community has announced that a poker room and sportsbook will open at the Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee this spring.

The sportsbook and poker room will officially open at the casino on May 3. The casino property expansion is part of a wider $190 million innovation project headed by the Potawatomi Community that began in May 2022.

“Since opening more than 30 years ago, Potawatomi Hotel and Casino has made it a priority to evolve and meet the needs of our guests,” CEO and General Manager Dominic Ortiz said. “Not only will this elevate the brand, it will further our long-standing status as the premier entertainment destination in the region as the market becomes significantly more competitive.”

The Potawatomi Casino has been without a poker room since their previous poker room was shutdown indefinitely during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new poker room will include 14 tables and takeover space previously occupied by the Northern Lights Theater which closed in 2023.

The new sportsbook will occupy two floors in the Potawatomi Casino. It will includes a 2,000 square-foot LED screen, and broadcast booth with a three-camera system for displaying live events. There will also be 20 television screens throughout the sportsbook for live sports viewing. The new sportsbook will be able to hold up to 200 people and feature several betting kiosks and betting windows.
