Mirage Casino must payout progressive jackpots

Ahead of its closure later this month the Mirage Casino must give way nearly $1.6 million in progressive jackpots.
The awarding of the progressive jackpots are a regulatory requirement due to the casino’s imminent closure. Casinos that close in Nevada are required to return their progressive jackpots to casino gamblers. To meet this requirement the Mirage will begin a six-day progressive jackpots promotion on Tuesday, July 9. From July 9 to 13 it will run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will resume for one final day on July 16.
Approximately $1.2 million of the nearly $1.6 million available is from progressive slots. The scheduled payout on the progressive slots is $200,000 per day on July 9, 10, 11, $250,000 per day on July 12 and 13, and another $100,000 on July 16.
The remaining $400,000 is from progressive table games. This will be given away by draws held at 8 p.m. on July 12 and 13. Gamblers can enter the draws by playing any qualifying table game, including Face-Up Pai Gow, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker, Let It Ride, Blackjack, or baccarat, with a Unity by Hard Rock rewards card between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the designated days.
The Mirage will close permanently on July 17, 2024. The property will undergo a three-year renovation and reopen as the Hard Rock Las Vegas sometime in 2027. Anyone with Mirage casino chips has up to 120 days after the closure to redeem them. Following the closure of the Mirage casino chips can be redeemed at Treasure Island.
